ACT to Host International Chemical Sciences Conference |

The Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT), India, will host an International Conference on “New Dimensions in Chemical Sciences and Education” from September 11–13, 2025 at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai. The event celebrates the Silver Jubilee of ACT, founded in 2000 through the initiative of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (TIFR), Mumbai.
Celebrating 25 Years of Chemistry Education Leadership
Since its inception, ACT has championed excellence in Chemistry education and research through national and international initiatives. These include the Indian National and International Chemistry Olympiad programmes and participation in the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast. Somaiya Vidyavihar University, established in 2019, builds on an 84-year legacy of Somaiya Vidyavihar and is among India’s leading higher education institutions.

Speakers and Global Participation
Prominent speakers include Prof John Warner, the “Father of Green Chemistry”; Prof Suresh Valiyaveettil, National University of Singapore; and Prof Ponnadurai Ramasami, University of Mauritius. The event is supported by the Indian Chemical Society, Chromatographic Society of India, and Green ChemisTree Foundation, Mumbai. The International Advisory Committee is chaired by Bharat Ratna Prof C N R Rao, FRS, and Padma Vibhushan Prof M M Sharma, FRS.

A large gathering of teachers, researchers, and industry experts from India and abroad is expected to attend.
